It kickstarts Christmas for many - Ripon's big lights switch-on will take place in the city centre on Saturday, November 23, serving up its usual extravaganza of live music, entertainment and special guests.

Free family entertainment on the Market Square starts at 4.30pm, and the lights will go on at 6pm with Father Christmas.

Free fairground rides and live music including tribute acts will continue until 8.30pm.
