Music, nightlife, cocktails and Mexican tapas: New rooftop bar and restaurant opens its doors in Harrogate

Simply called The Rooftop Bar, this newly refurbished venue can be found in the centre of the town.

Sited above Sukhothai, on Cheltenham Parade, The Rooftop Bar boasts a restaurant, bar and a wraparound outdoor terrace giving superb views across the town.

The stunning location sets the scene for this new venture, which will offer Mexican Tapas food, cocktails, wines, beers, spirits and prosecco, brunches, live music and DJs and more.

Brunch or dinner Mexican style

Take a table for two, or a larger booth if there’s a big group, and get set for a feast. Mexican food – like Burritos and Tacos – is on the menu in the restaurant area, which can cater for about 70 diners. Great for sharing this tasty, well flavoured food is served as lots of different dishes, or sharing platters.

There will be bottomless brunch deals and a full dinner menu at different times from Thursday to Sunday, but there will also be quick and easy foods available to order at any time in the bar. These substantial bar snacks will include dishes like Dirty Fries and Nachos.

Drinks at the bar

The bar area can hold about 150 people, and includes table and chair seating for around 50. Go classy with cocktails and wines, enjoy a refreshing beer or lager or pop a cork with Prosecco or Champagne. You can enjoy drinks in the bar or on the terrace – and if the smells from the restaurant become too tempting, you can always order up some of those tasty bar snacks.

What’s on when

Thursdays will be date nights with a special package of drinks and sharing plates. Opening times for Thursdays will be 4pm to midnight

On Fridays and Saturdays it will open at noon, so whether it’s brunch, a shopping break, or a late night out, you are looking for, you’ve got a choice. On Friday evenings there will be live music sets until about 9.30pm when DJs will keep the tunes going until it closes at midnight. On Saturdays there will be DJs in residence all day – playing chilled music during the day, and moving to more lively tunes and dance vibes as the evening progresses until closing at midnight.

Then on Sundays opening times are between noon and 10pm – the perfect day for a lazy brunch, a family get-together, or quality time with your partner or friends.

The venue has its own entrance at the side of the building and is ideal for either couples or big groups wanting an informal but fun meal, drink or night out. The dress code is casual and the vibe is informal.

There will be DJs keeping the music going for the opening weekend at the end of July and bookings can be taken for the opening nights. But if you miss that, don’t worry, you can catch the DJ sets and check out this great new venue and its amazing location any weekend.
