Tickets are on sale now for an exclusive night of all original acoustic music at Harrogate Theatre Studio starring Karl Culley.
Now based in Krakow, Poland, brilliant headliner Culley will make a rare hometown appearance next month with exclusive performances of tracks from his forthcoming album Phosphor.
Described by Mojo magazine as a “metaphysical folk-pop poet”, Karl’s first two albums Bundle of Nerves and The Owl had the Sunday Express hailing him as the long-lost son of John Martyn, Tim Buckley and Jose Gonzalez.
Presented by Abattoir Blues at 7.30pm on Saturday, April 20, support comes fromthe majestic Dragonfly Tattoo, a deliciously dark outfit led by Vicky Whelan.
Inspired by PJ Harvey, Beth Gibbons and Nick Cave, there’s also a hint of smoky jazz to their memorable melodies.
Also appearing is the talented and feisty Harrogate songstress Samantha Smith with her spellbinding urban soul.
Karl’s new album is his first in two years and the follow-up to the successful The Owl.
Recorded in York and Harrogate, in the months preceding his permanent move to Krakow, The Owl was released to glowing reviews in 2011.
Karl had gigged extensively at venues and festivals up and down the UK, his songs have been aired on radio and television in England and Poland, and he has provided numerous live sessions and interviews for radio in both countries.
Tickets are available now at Harrogate Theatre box office on 01423 502116 or book online at www.harrogatetheatre.co.uk
