NORTH Yorkshire indie band The Conspirators have reacted to news of hitting the charts with their new single.

The Bedale-based band are at number three for the second week running in the UK Independent Text Charts with their track Bubbles.

The group, consisting of Genevieve Gillies, John Gillies, Nathan Reeve, Jim Beadle and Jim Gillies, are delighted with their success.

Vocalist John said: “To gain a national chart position once again, ahead of thousands of bands, is testament to the fantastic support we have from our fans locally.

“We played to a packed out 400 capacity crowd recently at our launch party at Lightwater Valley.

“It was an incredible turnout and we are so pleased that local people are behind us.”

Bubbles, which the band co-wrote with legendary guitarist Andy Miller from hit Britpop group Dodgy, is also receiving a great deal of airplay from radio stations throughout the UK and beyond.

Stations include Yorkshire Radio, BBC Introducing, Stray FM, Radio Teesdale and Germany’s Koln University. You can catch the band performing locally next at The Crown & Anchor, Sowerby tomorrow, Saturday.
