It’s how Scrooge might toast the seasonal spirit and fans of the festive classic are in for an early Christmas treat at Hull City Hall.

A Dickensian Christmas – hosted by TV star Stephen Mangan – is a concert featuring Victorian carols and readings from Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, on December 17, 2022, 7.30pm.

Host Stephen Mangan, the actor, comedian, presenter and writer, is best know for his TV roles in Green Wing, I'm Alan Partridge, The Split and most recently as a host of Sky’s Portrait Artist Of The Year.

He also co-presented the 2020 edition of the BBC’s Children In Need and was Tony-nominated for his portrayal of Norman in The Norman Conquests on Broadway.

A Dickensian Christmas promises to be a festive treat featuring carols Joy to the World, Sussex Carol, I Saw Three Ships, Ding Dong Merrily on High, In the Bleak Midwinter and Silent Night.

Other set list highlights include God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen, Good King Wenceslas, O Come All Ye Faithful and Hark! The Herald Angels Sing.

The concert is to be conducted by Mark Edwards, who will lead the Canzonetta Choir and London Concert Brass, during this very special evening.
