A Tour de France inspired charity bike ride sped through Harrogate on Wedneday June 12 as cyclists rode 333 miles for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Ben Cope, 27 organised the mammoth challenge with his company, 3 Mobile, and decided to visit 17 stores across Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire in just three days.

Cyclists from the different stores began the challenge in Leeds on Wednesday before visiting different stores including Harrogate, York, Scarborough and Hull.

Ben said: “We all love cycling and work for 3 so cycling 333 miles to raise £3,333 seemed the perfect combination.”

“Marie Curie is 3 Mobile’s chosen charity for 2014 and we wanted to do something a little bit different to help raise money for this fantastic cause.”

“The charity helps so many people and it’s important to keep raising funds for the nurses who take care of the terminally ill people.”

After volunteering at Marie Curie, Ben said he was touched after hearing patients’ stories and by the effect that cancer has had on his own family.
