WETHERBY Bulldogs are through to a final at Featherstone Rovers next month, after a dazzling semi-final victory over Selby in the Selby District Cup.

They won 44-12 to reach the final on May 12.

Man of the match Jordan Fiddes got Wetherby on the way with an early try, before Elliott Whitehead added a second.

Selby hit back but Wetherby soon quelled the threat with tries from Ellis Leach, Ash Davies, Alex Hutchinson, Jake Cross and Matt Norcliffe.

Fiddes tagged six conversions to secure the victory.

Bulldogs lost Joe Mason to injury for the rest of the season, but dedicted their win to him. Tom Lord and Dale Teale also earned plaudits for their performances.

Bulldogs get back to Pennine Six business tomorrow, at home to Undercliffe Wildboars.

Elsewhere SHERBURN BEARS lost 22-30 to Brotherton in the Selby and District Andy Wells Memorial Trophy.

Tries came from Bryn Watson, Alex Hewson (2), Steve Ramsey, Steve Wood with Danny Lazenby tagging the extras.
