Mixed Saturday for Town and Rail’

HARROGATE Town put up a superb battling performance away at Barrow in the FA Trophy, but despite leading twice in the match they slipped to a 3-2 defeat.

Town opened the scoring on the west coast through a Will Turl strike but Barrow hit back straight away to equalise.

Laurie Wilson scored a screamer to put Town in the lead again.

But the Conference dug deep to again level the match, before winning it deep in the second half.

Meanwhile HARROGATE RAILWAY ended their losing streak by beating Wakefield FC 5-1 away in Evo-Stick First Division North.

In the West Yorkshire League, KNARESBOROUGH TOWN moved to the top of the Premier League table after beating Whitkirk 3-0.
