FIVE o’clock tomorrow could throw up two scenarios for Harrogate Town.
Victory over Solihull Moors and a defeat for Vauxhall Motors will secure their Blue Square North status.
Draw or lose and their fate will be sealed on the final weekend of the season at Corby Town.
Boss Simon Weaver is acutely aware of what is needed.
And with half price tickets available for their final home game of the season, he hopes a bumper crowd has cause for celebration at the final whistle.
“We’ve just got to be positive and take the game to Solihull,” said Weaver.
“I’ll be going out with an attacking side, looking to win because we know the situation and know what we need to do.
“I’ve been really proud of the lads the last few games for the way they’ve played. We’re unbeaten in four now, they are all working hard for each other.
“It’s a team full of grafters. When I’ve been on dressing rooms in teams fighting for survival there have been players with glazed looks on their faces.
“I don’t have that with this current group.
“Hopefully the crowd will come down and get behind us. We’ve got a couple of players who are really receptive to positive and negative criticism.
“I think it will really benefit them.”
On Saturday, Town made the long trip to North Wales to take on Colwyn Bay, another team right in the relegation mixer, and returned home with a 2-2 draw.
Weaver’s men twice fought back from a goal down to grab a share of the spoils. Alex Meechan (61) and Chib Chilaka (84) strikes were sandwiched in between Michael Lea’s opener (34) and ex-Chelsea defender Frank Sinclair’s 81st minute strike.
“I had a bit of a go at them at half-time because I just felt like I could squeeze a bit more out of them,” added Weaver.
“And they responded superbly. I wanted them to go out there angry and take the game by the scruff of the neck and they did just that.
“Every point is crucial at the moment. We heard after the game Vauxhall had lost and they were in relegation places. It’s a crazy table, I’ve never seen anything like it.”
