Tom Hesketh struck a free-kick wide, Carole fired the wrong side of the post after good work from Brad Walker down the left and Heath set himself well only to see his shot rebound off a post.
Hesketh then had a shot saved by Joshua Turton and Carole shot wide before Heath fired over after another Walker run and Jonty Maullin’s volley was saved.
Walker then saw out the half with three more efforts, two of which were saved before the other went over the crossbar.

Knaresborough were then awarded a penalty after Carole was upended, but Turton beat away Hesketh’s spot kick in the 50th minute.
Soon afterwards, the gloveman also saved a McDaid free-kick, but Town’s second goal eventually arrived in the 59th minute when Walker broke clear and rounded Turton to make it 2-0.
Rushworth saved again from Kurtis Bamford but the final chance fell to Heath who headed over from a Hesketh free-kick as Knaresborough ran out deserved winners.
