New six-week road closure for Harrogate area plagued by house building

LNER, which runs the services, has tweeted to say that the 11.33am service from London Kings Cross will be terminated at Leeds and will no longer make it to Harrogate.

The 3.36pm service from Harrogate to Kings Cross will also be disrupted, now starting from Leeds rather than Harrogate.

The changes are said to be due to a change in train type, which they say is caused by "more trains than usual needing repairs at the same time."

The LNER website says:"Tickets will be accepted on Northern Trains service departing Leeds at 1.59pm to Harrogate, We are sorry for the inconvenience this may cause to your journey today. If your journey has been delayed you may be entitled to some compensation."

The Harrogate to London Azuma trains were launched with a huge fanfare last December and were seen as a huge boost to Harrogate's travel network, meaning that travellers could get from here to London on one train.
