Improving your Computer Skills: would you like to improve your computer skills? Are you feeling left out of the modern age of the Internet? Do you want to be able to search for the best deals on line? The Workers Educational Association is running a course to cover the above items. Bring your laptop or use ours. It will be at Tockwith Village Hall for 10 weeks each Wednesday at 1-3pm from September 25 to December 4. There will be no class during the half term break on October 30. The fees per learner are £63 for the course. Reduced fees are available for those who qualify. Minimum number for class is 10 and maximum is 12 so please register your interest. The Spotted Ox: open mic sessions every first Wednesday of the month at 8pm with Arnold of The Raisers. People are invited to book in advance or turn up on the night to perform or go along to listen. Quiz nights every first Monday of the month starting at about 8.30pm. There are cash prizes and everyone is welcome. Contact The Spotted Ox – 01423 358387.

Art group: do you enjoy painting or drawing? Perhaps you like the idea, but have never got round to trying it. Whatever your experience or skill you will be most welcome at Tockwith Art Group. We are a small diverse group with a common interest in making pictures. Some paint in oils, watercolours or acrylics, others prefer pastels or collage. Whatever your preferred medium, you are sure to fit in. We also host occasional demonstrations and workshops by well-known and professional artists. Craft club: meets every Monday at 1pm in Tockwith Village Hall. Whether you are an experienced crafter or new to the idea come along and join our group and pass a pleasant couple of hours in a relaxed and informal meeting with us like to know more? Just ring 01432 359378 or email .

Tockwith Pop Choir: we meet every Tuesday at 7.45-9.30pm in Tockwith Church. Everyone is welcome and you don’t have to be able to read music or even be good at singing (you’ll be amazed how you can improve with practice). If you can only make it once in a while that is also fine. It’s just £2 per two hour session, £1 for pensioners. The choir does perform locally from time to time for charity but that is also not compulsory. It is all very light hearted and most of all fun! Tockwith Bowls Club: is a flat green bowling club, situated next to the football field at the Sports Pavilion. We have a club night on Tuesday nights which is a fun, come and try night. Contact details: club captain Ray Clark 01423 358939 or secretary/treasurer Roger McGlone 01423 358504.

Ainsty Conservation Society: ACS is a local organisation dedicated to nature conservation and is a registered charity. Workdays are on the morning of the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. Tockwith with Wilstrop Parish Council: the parish council meetings are held on the third Wednesday of the month. Meetings are not normally held in August or December.
