Yorkshire Countrywomen’s Association: at the August meeting members heard about A Little Bit of Fewston from Mr Dave Hunt. He spoke about the archaeological research he had done with other members of his society, under the guidance of a professional archaeologist, after the area was designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. He spoke about how the area had changed over hundreds of years and in particular after Yorkshire Water bought the land. The September meeting was a members’ evening when everyone had fun with a BEE Drive and confusion reigned, along with laughter and merriment, with everyone feeling that they had got to know one another a little better. The October meeting is an outing to the Gateshead Metro Centre on Wednesday, October 24.
