Ainsty Conservation Society: Sandhole Wood is now 15 years old and maturing nicely. Native bluebells were first introduced in the wood five years ago and have grown and flowered well in a number of locations. Hopefully the first bulbs grown from seed within the wood will flower this spring. If you have not visited the wood in recent years, make sure you do go in this spring. Access is off the bridleway between Tockwith and Bilton, leaving the village from Marston Road. ACS is a local organisation dedicated to nature conservation and is a registered charity Membership of the society costs £5 per household per year. If you want to help care for the wood, why not join in the work days which, this year, are on the morning of the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. If you are interested in becoming a member or want to help, please contact Ian Williams on 01423 359196.
