“IT was a real day to remember”
That is the message from proud staff at Highfield Care Home in Scarthingwell, near Tadcaster, after more than 100 people attended a Proms and Picnic in the Park event at the weekend.
The day raised money for the chairman of Selby District Council’s chosen charities - Age Concern and Young Carers, a group who provide respite for people as young as eight-years old who provide care to relatives.
Music was provided by the Balby Foot Tappers and the event has been hailed a resounding success.
“It was a marvellous day,” said Richard Sweeting, of Highfield Care Home.
“Highfield Care Home is proud to be a big part of the community and we’re delighted that the community could come to us at the weekend.
“It was a really entertaining day and everybody seemed to enjoy themselves.
“I must say a big thankyou to all who came along.”
