Eight-year-old miniature schnauzer Alfie ran away while being walked in Rudding Park last week.

The pet, who suffers from epilepsy, has since been sighted near Spofforth, Follifoot, Rudding and on the Stockeld Park estate land near Wetherby.

Alfie lives with his family in Pool-in-Wharfedale, and is neutered and microchipped.

Staff at Stockeld Park decided to use their drone, which is often used for panoramic filming, to search fields and woods for the errant dog.

Although he has not been re-captured, there have been numerous sightings and large numbers of dog walkers have been attempting to track him in the area.

"We think he's roaming a five-mile area - he was seen in Stockeld yesterday but we think since then he's gone further away, back towards Rudding Park. We're not open for the season yet so it's not causing us any problems, but many of our staff are dog lovers and we want to help," said Sarah Murray from Stockeld Park.

A bed and food have been placed in a cage in a bid to lure Alfie back, and the public have been warned not to try and catch him in case he has a fit.

His owners have offered a £500 reward for anyone who can help bring him home. If you see Alfie, call 01943 463447
