Spofforth Beer Festival set to thrill

About 20 craft ales will be on offer in Spofforth this weekend when the village stages its annual beer festival.

As well as beers, there will be ciders, lagers, prosecco, food and entertainment at the village hall on March 10 and 11.

Entertainment includes live music from The Florins on Friday night, The Bad Daddies and Edmund on Saturday, as well as a big screen showing the Six Nations rugby union and DJ Chris in the evening.

Spofforth Village Society chairman Robyn Farmer said: “The money raised goes towards improving the community of Spofforth.

“Each year we are able to make donations to the church, school, Monday monkeys, Spofforth seniors, cricket club, youth club and Spofforth in Bloom.

There will also be a Prosecco/wine lounge.

Robyn added: We wish to thank all our sponsors. With their support we share more and do more for our village.

Tickets can be bought in advance from Londis in Spofforth, Hairbell or on the door on the night.

Friday’s fun starts at 6.30pm and goes through to 10.30pm. On Saturday, doors open at noon and close when the event runs dry.

For those wishing to travel to the event and enjoy the alcoholic refreshment, the village is served by the number 770 or X70 buses.
