Spofforth Parish Council: are concerned about the increasing incidence of dog fouling on the Castle field. They have always maintained a fairly liberal policy on this matter and would be reluctant to ban dogs altogether as they want the field to be an open space for all residents and visitors. However, leaving dog mess on the field is disgusting and highly unsociable; a health hazard and the cause of problems when cutting the grass. The people of Spofforth saved the field from housing development for everyone to enjoy so pick it up and avoid the necessity for the council to lock the gates and ban dogs altogether.
Spofforth School: Christmas fair will be held at 10am-noon on Saturday, November 30 at the school.School Lane Spofforth. Details later.
The parish harvest supper: was supported by all parts of the parish and was the usual enjoyable sociable event. The organisers would like to thank all the contributors of pies, sweets and floral decorations, those who sold raffle tickets and the many willing hands who cleared away after the event. After expenses the parish was able to contribute £136.40 to the Harrogate Homeless charity.
