Slideshow: Boston Spa Beer Festival hailed a success
Beer flowed to bring in the cash at the annual Boston Spa Beer Festival last weekend.
The event, run by a team of dedicated dads and village volunteers, featured Hudson’s Heatwave, which was a dedicated brew to BBC Look North weatherman Paul Hudson.
Co-organiser Jonny Gray said: “On behalf of the committee, I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone that attended the festival last weekend and express our deepest gratitude to the local businesses that partnered and supported our event.
“We’ve still got a few invoices to come in so it’s difficult to say at this stage if it was a record year for the two local causes that receive all of the profits - St Mary’s Primary School and Boston Spa Village Hall.
“We did get through a lot of beer though - around 7,000 pints, with the Golden and Blonde ales being incredibly popular.
“That said, the prosecco also flowed with more than 1,500 glasses raised.
“It was an great weekend with a really lovely, community feel, so again, thank you to everyone who attended, supported and volunteered - without them the show could not go on.”
The committee has raised more than £60,000 for St Mary’s Primary School and the village hall since it started back in 2009.
The date for the 2017 Boston Spa Beer Festival will be announced in the next few weeks.
