St. Paul’s Church: the Champagne and Strawberry Fayre is to be held on Saturday, July 6 in the village hall. The event is on from 2-5pm and tickets are now available at £5 for adults, children free. The ticket price includes a glass of Cava and strawberries and cream together with tea and cakes, very good value. The children will be entertained in the church with games and fun for all. There will also be free face painting for the children in the village hall. Lisa will be in the hall to paint nails and there will be various other stalls selling new books, greetings cards, jewellery, plants and cakes. There is something for everyone, we hope. This event is instead of the usual Mayfest event which has been held previously on the primary school playing field. Profit from the event will go to St. Paul’s church. Prize draw tickets are now on sale for the luxury hamper and several other prizes, tickets cost £1 each and are in books of five but can be sold singly. For more information or for tickets for the event or prize draw please contact Brian on 01132 657282 or David on 01132 252223. Later in the year there are two further events organised by the Mayfest committee, a themed comedy dinner with entertainment provided by Terry Webster. The dinner is on Saturday, September 14 in the village hall. In November the popular Ceilidh and fish and chip supper will be on Saturday, November 4 again the venue is the village hall, further information and ticket prices will be available soon.
