St. Paul’s Mayfest: The Mayfest was held on Saturday, May 14. Although the weather stayed fine it was blowing a gale and stall holders and organisers had a great deal of problems with the gazebos and tents. Several of the gazebos were damaged in the very strong wind the large one sheltering the brass band being one of these. However it was a good afternoon. There were a large number of visitors to the field but it was too windy for them to sit and enjoy the music played by the Harrogate Brass Band. The children enjoyed the bouncy castle and slide. The ice cream seller did not do as well as in other years because most of the visitors opted for a bacon sandwich or a burger instead. The ladies in the village hall were kept busy serving teas and cakes too. Children from the primary school managed to dance round the maypole ably assisted by several scouts sitting on the base of the maypole to keep it steady. The final amount raised by the event is not known yet more details later.

Village Hall Quiz: The next village hall quiz will be held on Friday, May 27 at 7.30pm.
