Local jazz night: Scarcroft and Bardsey residents travelled to Collingham Memorial Hall to hear a concert by Brace Yourselves, a six piece youth jazz band and Cosmic Rays, a four piece all female jazz group. Both groups gave very professional performances of many well known jazz classics, coming together at the evening end for a final rendering of When the Saints Go Marching in. Light refreshments were provided in the interval. Brace Yourselves members come from St Aidans School and Cosmic Rays from John Fisher School, both in Harrogate. In these days it is very laudable to find a group of very talented, many multi instrumental young people who will all have spent many hours practicing. All the best for their future.
