Scarcroft Women’s Institute: in the chair, Pauline Reeves introduced the evening’s speaker, Mr Alex Pervice who gave a talk illustrated with slides about art and paintings. Examples of Constable’s work were shown, also pictures by Van Gough. Popular in Japan was Stanley Spencer of Cookham Dean, in 1938, Cookham was home to many well known artists. Margaret Midgley gave a vote of thanks. Hostesses were Mrs C Chandler and Mrs J Hixon. Next Meeting Thursday, March 14, 7.30 at the village hall.

Scarcroft Summer Holiday: this summers Scarcroft Holiday is to Torquay, May 13 to 20. Tony Broome, with his Britannia Coach. Picking up at Scarcroft. Staying at the Headlands Hotel,Torquay with daily visits to places of interest. Most of the party are local, friendly and some you will probably know. There are a few double places remaining.
