A major route is to be closed several times in August to allow for bridge maintenance.
The A162 is to be closed in the next few weeks to allow Network Rail to carry out repairs to a bridge on the A162 near Barkston Ash, on the road towards Sherburn-in-Elmet.
Highways officers at North Yorkshire County Council say the closures are planned from 7.30pm-5.30am from Monday August 13 to Thursday August 16 and Monday August 20 to Thursday August 23. A signposted diversion will be in place using the A63, A19 and A64.
There will also be a one day closure during the week starting Monday September 10. The date has not yet been finalised.
County Councillor Don Mackenzie, executive member for highways, said: “Most of this work is at night to keep disruption to a minimum, and the diversion will be clearly signposted.
“We would like to thank residents and drivers in advance for their patience during this important work.”
