Reader letter: Voting debate is complex issue

Re: English MPs Should Vote on English Laws.

With reference to Pauline Latham’s article on page 13 of last Wednesday’s Belper News, related to the above. I appreciate that this is a very complex and difficult issue, regarding Scottish MPs voting on English only issues. But I do consider it a paradox when we have politicians on one hand, encouraging the Scottish people to vote to stay in the Union, but on the other hand pushing Scotland away by actually promising more independence and allowing more decisions to be made by Edinburgh, rather than Westminster and also discussions are ongoing that Scottish MPs should not be granted a vote on English only issues.

Scotland may have voted against independence recently but independence by stealth seems to be the way Scotland is heading.
