Wartime nostalgia was all the rage in Harrogate Valley Gardens as thousands of people flocked to 40s Day - many of them in period costume.
This annual feelgood event usually attracts crowds up to 40,000 for a day of picnics, live music and wartime remembrance.
Organisers Harrogate International Festivals reported another huge turnout for an event which saw a flypast by a genuine Spitfire.
This year the event formally became part of Harrogate International Festivals all year programme of festivals and events.
Music on the bandstand was provided by the Harrogate Band and the Harrogate Harmony Barbershop Chorus as well as Maria Manchester and Echo 4 2, all introduced by Major Swing.
