Jamie Hullah, sales director of Touch Telecom which manages the network on behalf of Wetherby Town Council, said: “Via Intechnology we are providing town centre business with a speed that nobody else can match and coupled with the Digital Enterprise scheme it gives businesses a great incentive to transform their online operations.”

Bar Three owner Simon McNamara said: “We now have incredibly quick broadband available for our customers inside and out and the grant scheme was very easy to work through.”

Intechnology launched the network in April 2019 to increase Wetherby’s access to the digital economy and provide free outdoor internet access. More than 6,100 people have signed up for the public service.

Intechnology chief executive Natalie Duffield said: “Superfast broadband is essential for businesses to be able to prosper and grow.”

She added: “We are delighted to be working with Touch Telecom to help SMEs access our best-in-class superfast broadband service.”
