Sponsor backs girls football

A local company has stepped in to sponsor one of the biggest girls’ football teams in the area.

Ripon-based JA Services, which provides expert maintenance and repair, has funded a new kit for the Boroughbridge Juniors Under 13 Girls football team.

The under 13 Girls’ play in the Harrogate and District Junior Girls Football League and has a squad of 15 players drawn from Boroughbridge and surrounding towns. JA Services part-owner, Justin Sinclair, said: “As a football coach and the father of a daughter who loves playing football, I am delighted to have the opportunity to support the team and make sure they are one of the best turned out squads in the league.”

Chris Fahy, Boroughbridge Juniors FC chairman added: “There is no doubt that football is increasing in popularity among girls of all ages.

“The football club now has four girls’ teams aged from 8 to 13 years, but we are always keen to attract more players to the club.

“It is so important that our teams look smart and have a kit that makes them feel like a team when they step out on the pitch.”

JA Services is owned and run by Alex Pearson and Justin Sinclair, who between them have more than 50 years’ experience in vehicle repairs across most vehicle franchises.

The company provides a range of vehicle maintenance services, including MOTs, servicing and diagnostics, as well as vehicle recovery services.

Boroughbridge JFC is an FA Charter Standard club, providing a high quality football experience for some 120 children. Games and training sessions take place at Boroughbridge High School and Boroughbridge AFC on Aldborough Road on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

All coaches are FA-qualified and background-checked.

The focus of training is on football skills, creativity, building confidence levels, working hard, having fun and respecting each other.
