Large of frame, large in personality, Richard Bosworth made an enormous contribution to many budding entrepreneurs and business people around the world.

He was also very outspoken and never afraid the challenge others.

Born in Stafford his career became worldwide.

He was the drummer in a band that supported the Beatles in 1963 when we was 13-years-old.

Richard was offered senior roles at Kenco, Cadbury and Rank Hovis McDougall but his first job while at agricultural college was selling sacks of chicken manure door to door for a pound each.

He collected the manure for free from a local farm.

He joined Eastern Counties Farmers as a trouble-shooter and turned that loss making company into a profitable enterprise in nine months.

He met Constance and it was love at first sight.

They were married six months later. They had been married for 50 years.

In 1975 they moved to South Africa where he founded the country’s first business development consultancy.

The family returned to the UK in 1998 and have lived in Harrogate ever since.

He was part of Tec International and also co-founded the Wealth Enhancement forum and recently launched the What If Forums, a group dedicated to the development of business leaders and entrepreneurs.

Richard brought massive enthusiasm and skill to achieve his mission which was to help business owners and leaders build businesses worth owning and enjoy lives worth living.

Richard also found time for many other projects.

He was part of a cycling group who went to the Balkans and raised money for Macmillan. Edwina Curry was part of the group.

He also cycled 3,500 kilometres down the west coast of North America from Vancouver to Tijuana in Mexico and came within 30 feet of a grizzly bear.

He was a member of Harrogate Brigantes Rotary Club to which he brought the same enthusiasm.

Always six impossible things before breakfast. His great expertise in all things hi-tech saw him part of virtual Rotary groups, and he was always seeking to increase his learning and look for new intelligence.

Richard was a highly committed family man, Constance and daughters Louise and Suzie, together with grandchildren Joshua and Ella, were with him in Whitby.

He wanted to go on working until the end and he did.
