Letter: Blind Jack - A word of caution on road naming
As someone who owns a property on Blind Lane and uses it everyday, I must advise that it would be inappropriate to rename it after Blind Jack due to its state of disrepair between Somerley Lane and Boroughbridge Road.
At the last count there were 79 potholes on this section of the road.

Hide AdDespite repeated requests from myself and involvement of Knaresborough Town Council and local NYCC councillors, NYCC say the potholes are not deep enough to repair.
The road has no footpath along this section but is heavily used by pedestrians.
Were Blind Jack alive today he would be at risk of falling and injury were he to travel down Blind Lane in its current state.
By all means name a road after him but one that is worthy of his talent, skill and legacy.
