The Wetherby Jubilee Souvenir Calendar is now on sale at various outlets throughout Wetherby including the Wetherby News office in Westgate and Goggies in Church Street.

It contains old and new photographs of Wetherby selected from the archives of the Wetherby Historical Trust.

Priced at £5, all profits from the sale go towards funding Jubilee events.

A provisional programme for the Jubilee weekend is included with the calendar.

One of the events is a parade of decorated bicycles through the town – repeating an event for decorated bicycles which was held in Wetherby for Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations in 1897 and depicted on one of the calendar pages.

Of special interest to the Wetherby News is a page showing the workers of Wetherby, illustrated by an old photograph of the staff of Crossley’s Printers and the Wetherby News outside their premises, now occupied by the Post Office in the High Street.
