Sherburn High has been busy gathering luxury goods for their annual Christmas Hamper project.
Overseen by Form Tutor Luci Davies and her form members, it was a whole school collection.
“Post 16 students, Anna Thornton, Rosie Gilbertson and Adam Marchant put a lot of hard work into the organisation with Rosie wrapping 40 boxes ready to be filled with the donations of sweets, chocolate, tinned food and bubble bath,” said a school spokesman.
“The generosity of our students, parents and staff was overwhelming. The staff brought in items for a Luxury Hamper which was donated to the Lady Popplewell Centre in Sherburn which they are going to raffle during their Christmas celebrations.”
The 40 hampers, created by students and parents, have been distributed to some of the older members of the community in a bid to spread Christmas cheer.
The last few hampers have been given to Sherburn Visiting Scheme, along with a donation from the coin collection.
Luci added: “Students in my form worked so hard towards the project, I am extremely proud of all their efforts. I would also like to thank everyone for their generosity, it has been appreciated.”
