A mother of two from Thorp Arch will be putting on her running shoes this month, in support of The Children’s Trust, when she takes part in the Virgin Money London Marathon on April 26 to complete a personal challenge.

Gaby Morrison (45), set herself a challenge of running 45 miles in the year she celebrates her 45th birthday.

Having completed the Leeds 10k and the Great North Run, totalling 19 miles, she is now preparing for her final run to achieve her overall goal.

Gaby said: “I am running for The Children’s Trust, the UK’s leading charity for children with brain injury, as nine years ago my godson Ollie received rehabilitation at The Children’s Trust after he sustained a brain injury as a result of choking on a grape.

“Ollie has overcome many challenges over the years in relearning everyday life skills that we take for granted so, I am determined to complete the ultimate challenge of 26 miles in the London marathon and hope that family and friends will help me achieve my fundraising target of over £4,000.”
