Hospice raises a glass to brewery

MARTIN House Hospice will be toasting Yorkshire Day this year - after a brewery commited £1,000 to the Clifford-based charity.

Roosters Brewing Company are to donate £10 for every cask of its new White Rose beer, with 100 casks expected to be sold.

The beer is brewed to celebrate Yorkshire Day on August 1 and the company chose a different charity to support each year.

This year, they have decided to benefit Martin House.

John Haigh, corporate fundraiser for Martin House said; “The 460 local children with life-limiting illnesses, and their families, who are supported by us each year, are delighted that Rooster’s White Rose beer is being produced and sold in support of Martin House Children’s Hospice,”

“With annual operating costs of £4.5 million and amidst the economic recession, such a generous donation from Roosters Brewing Company is massively appreciated.

“I hope to get a chance to taste a pint or two on August 1, in celebration of Yorkshire Day and of Yorkshire’s major children’s hospice”
