Sherburn High School students celebrated their hard work and efforts last week at the annual awards ceremonies known affectionately as The Sherbies.
Held over four evenings, the ceremony consist of a range of awards, from curriculum areas, community, academic achievement, library and reading to attendance and vivos.
To be nominated for any of these awards, students have demonstrated consistent hard work and effort or have gone that extra mile for their school or community.
A school spokesman said: “Every evening, the school hall was filled with the buzz of excited parents and students who came to celebrate each nominee’s success.
“We listened to wonderful musical performances all week and are extremely proud of our talented musicians and singers.
“Two ex-students returned to perform for us; James Beaumont and Joe Wilson, who won the York Buskival in 2012, so it was a real pleasure to see them back on stage together, performing once again.
Ruth Marsh, Assistant Headteacher and spokeswoman on behalf of the whole Achievement Team added her praise.
“Our team works really hard putting together these fantastic evenings but it is so worthwhile when you see our amazing students reaping the rewards of their hard work.”
