Wetherby-based family lawyer Sarah Dickinson is embarking on a brief of a different kind as she seeks to raise £4,000 for the Alzheimer’s Society by trekking the Great Wall of China.
The senior associate at Leeds-based Jones Myers LLP is hoping her homemade cakes and biscuits will go down a treat at Wetherby Market on Thursday, July 26, and boost funds for the six-day challenge in October.
Sarah, an insulin dependant diabetic whose late father suffered with Alzheimers, will trek more than 110km of the Great Wall in temperatures ranging from zero degrees at night in the mountains to over 20 degrees during the day.
Said Sarah: “Our family received invaluable support from the Alzheimer’s Society and I’m aiming to raise £4,000 which will go towards support for carers and enable research to continue to seek out a cure.”
