A FAMILY day in Harrogate’s Valley Gardens will raise money for the Woodlands Children’s Ward at Harrogate Hospital.

The annual Big Picnic takes place on Sunday, July 10 from noon and is open to families of all ages.

Among the entertainments on offer will be Punch and Judy show, fairground attractions, face painting, classic cars and a range of stalls. Music will also be provided throughout the day thanks to Milo’s Bar in Leeds, which will be bringing some of its favourite artists to the event.

Supported by the Rotary Club of Harrogate, Waitrose, Harrogate Lions, Harrogate Borough Council and Harrogate Hospital and Community Friends, the Big Picnic is aiming to raise money to buy more folding beds for the children’s ward at the hospital. They will enable parents to stay with their children on the ward, making the experience less stressful for youngsters.

Anyone interested in holding a stall at the event can contact Fiona Watson on 01423 853487 or, to take part, just turn up with your family, friends and picnic.
