The Church of St Joseph and St James Follifoot: the service on Sunday, April 21 will be holy communion at 9.30am.

Kerbside recycling: at Follifoot will be on Monday, April 22.

Spring litter pick: at Follifoot will be on Sunday, April 21 at 2pm. Meet outside the post office. All necessary equipment will be provided and the more people who turn up because they are proud of their village the sooner the job will be done.

FOFS (Friends of Follifoot School): held a meeting on March 13. Present were Elizabeth Duncombe, Nikki Keyse, Jo Andrade, Angela Walker, Sara Curston, Dani Wintersgill, Tor Handley, James Hinchliffe, Jo Maclean, Helen Fernyhough and Phil Fernyhough. An apology was received from Lisa Metcalfe. Various matters were discussed and the outline programme of future events was indicated, including a cake stall on the last Friday in April. The gardening club will be making an application to Yorkshire in Bloom for a grant of £10,000 to landscape the front garden. FOFS will support the application and, if it is successful, will donate funds towards the secret garden.

A plea: to the very dedicated fund raisers and volunteers in Follifoot. The deadline for contributions to area news in The Harrogate Advertiser is now the Wednesday eight days before publication. For example if an item is to be included in this issue (Thursday, April 18) the details have to be in the News office by Wednesday, April 10 before 10am. Please, please let me have news of forthcoming events in the village in plenty of time. Not everybody reads the Parish Magazine and Andy at the post office sells a lot of copies of the Advertiser which will help to bring notice of your forthcoming events to a wider audience.
