Fire crews rescue trapped infant from car

A TODDLER was rescued by firefighters after getting trapped in a vehicle in a supermarket car park.

The two-year-old girl was locked in the car at Sainsbury’s store in Tadcaster.

Fire crews spent almost half an hour at the scene and had to smash a window to get the tot out.

A spokesman for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We released the two-year-old girl from the car by breaking the window and handed the child back to her parents.”
