Bears will be everywhere at Temple Newsam when Martin House Hospice Care for Children and Young People holds a Big Bear Hug Family Walk in September.
The walk is one of the events to celebrate Martin House’s 30th anniversary and families are invited to enjoy an afternoon of activities all with a bear theme.
It includes two walks around the grounds of Temple Newsam, one 2k walk which is completely wheelchair and pushchair accessible, and a longer 5k route through the woods.
There will be bears to discover along the routes and activity packs for children to complete – which will be entered into a prize draw to win a Build-A-Bear voucher.
Ellie Barker, events fundraiser at Martin House, said: “Families are at the heart of what we do, so we wanted to hold an event all the family could enjoy together as part of our anniversary celebrations. We’re hoping people will bring along their bears, have fun and help us to celebrate 30 years of caring.”
Other activities on the day will include bouncy castle and fairground rides, bear-themed children’s activities including decorating a gingerbread bear, a craft fair and food stands.
The Bear Hug Walks takes place on Saturday 2 September from 11am and for details visit www.martinhouse.org.uk.
