A SPECIAL service of thanksgiving will be taking place at Newby Hall on Sunday, July 31.
The Rev Alison Askew, from the United Benefice of Kirby Hill will be holding a service to celebrate tourism and hospitality at the Church of Christ The Consoler on the estate.
The church which is now in the care of the Churches Conservation Trust was built in the 1870s and although open to visitors does not hold regular services.
The Rev Askew said: “Churches all over the country regularly thank God for farmers, the Armed Forces and emergency services.
“Here in North Yorkshire, tourism is also a vital element of our communities and so this is an opportunity to ask God’s blessing on all who work in the tourism and hospitality industries in the area.
Everyone is welcome to the service, which starts at 10.30am.
