Flood alert for Wetherby

A flood alert has been issued for the River Wharfe at Wetherby this morning.

The Environment Agency said that The Old Mill, Carpark, Tennis Club, and Wetherby Grange were under threat.

At 10.14 today it was reported that levels in the upper catchment had started to fall and the river level at Wetherby Flint Mill was 2.15m and rising but is forecast to start falling during Friday afternoon.

“We are not expecting any significant rainfall during Friday,” said an Environment Agency spokesman.

“The Environment Agency will continue to monitor the situation.”
