The English Youth Ballet has welcomed a former Rossett School student, who will be dancing this summer.
Mia Casper, 15, has been dancing since she was a toddler and hopes to have a career in performance.
Through her ballet school in Harewood, she auditioned for the English Youth Ballet in February, impressing the judges, and will now be taking part in three performances of ‘Giselle’ at St George’s Hall, Bradford, on June 5 and 6.
She said: “The audition was really nerve-wracking. We had to learn lots of steps and sequences so they could see who picked things up quickly.
“I am nervous about the shows, but I know that taking part in performances like this will help my confidence when I’m on stage and it will be a good experience for me.”
Before her performances, Mia has a music GCSE to sit this May. However, headteacher Helen Woodcock said she is working hard to ensure she does her best in both challenges.
“She is dedicated to her studies and manages to fit all her dance lessons and rehearsals around her school work,” Ms Woodcock said.
