Cyclists 70-mile ride boosts charity funds

Over a thousand cyclists set out from Wetherby Racecourse on the 35th Great Yorkshire Bike Ride last weekend.

The event, organised by Wetherby and District Lions, saw the riders follow a 70-mile route to Filey.

Wetherby Lions President John Boulton said: “Now in it’s 35th year and very close to raising £2million for Yorkshire charities, we had 1,300 riders this year and once again it was a fantastic event.”

The charities which the event will help include Yorkshire Cancer Research, Wetherby District Lions, PhysCap among others.
