Police are urging vigilance after a spate of thefts from vehicles in the Sherburn-in-Elmet area.
Overnight on January 22 thieves broke into vehicles in Pasture Close and Copperfield Close, Sherburn in Elmet and Sand Lane, South Milford.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said that the suspects took items from two of them which were found discarded in the street.
They took a CD multi-changer from the third vehicle.
Officers believe that all the vehicles targeted have been left insecure.
PC Steven Shaw of Selby Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “We are appealing for anyone who saw or heard any suspicious activity overnight to contact us.
“Have you seen anyone checking vehicle doors or seen any unknown people loitering in the street?
“If you have any information, please contact the police, no matter how insignificant you think your information is.”
He added: “We are also urging motorists across the district to be on their guard and always lock their cars at night and remove all items, especially valuables. If you have a garage, always use it.”
Anyone with information should phone 101, option 2, ask for Steven Shaw.
