Police are investigating after £100,000 worth of fabricated steel was stolen from an industrial unit at Sherburn in Elmet.
Thieves entered the yard overnight between Tuesday November 19 and Wednesday November 20 and took the steel along with a large trailer which it was stored in.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “They must have used a HGV tractor unit to move the trailer, which didn’t have any registration plates attached.
“Officers are appealing to anyone who saw any suspicious people or vehicles in the area around the time of the incident to come forward with information.
“You are also urged to get in touch if you have recently been offered a large quantity of fabricated steel for sale.”
Anyone who can help officers with their enquiries is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 - select option 2 - and ask for PC Nicola Gill or Selby police.
