Car stolen in Hanoi burglary

Police are appealing for information following a Hanoi burglary in the Selby area.

A red Renault Megane Sport R26 230 was stolen from a house on Pasture Way, Sherburn-in-Elmet on Friday August 26 between 1.15 and 2.20am.

Police said burglars broke into the house and searched the ground floor of the property before taking the vehicle keys and the car. It is not thought that any other property was stolen during the burglary.

Although the householders were at home at the time, they were upstairs and unaware of the theft until a family member returned home.

PC David Fulford, of the Selby Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “This burglary has naturally left the homeowners shaken by the experience.

“I am appealing to anyone who has any information about the people who committed the burglary, or where the Renault Megane is now, to contact the police as a matter of urgency.”

PC Fulford added: “I would like to remind people that the police advice is to keep doors locked and keys out of sight when not being used.”

Anyone with information about the incident can contact PC David Fulford at Selby Police Station, on 0845 60 60 24 7 quoting reference number 12110144475. Or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
