St Edward’s Roman Catholic Church: services for the coming week are as follows Saturday, November 3 6pm vigil mass, Sunday, November 4 10am, Monday, November 5 to Friday, November 9 9.30am (10am on Thursday).

Clifford Methodist Church: on Sunday, November 4 there will be a service at 10.30am. There will also be an open house coffee morning in the Methodist schoolroom on Tuesday, November 6 from 10–11.30am. All welcome. St Luke’s Church: there will be a holy communion service on Sunday, November 4 at 3.30pm.

Clifford Local History Group is holding an open meeting in the supper room at the village hall on Wednesday, November 7, at 7.30pm. The meeting will consist of an illustrated talk on the photographic record of changes in the village, and how a careful look at what’s there now can tell you what was there before. Admission is £3, including refreshments. Please ring 01937 842141 or 01937 845575 with any queries.

Quiz: Clifford Village Hall Supporters are holding their popular quiz on Friday, November 9 at 7.30pm in the village hall. Tickets are £6, including a light supper and bingo ticket. For further information, and to buy tickets, please contact Lyn Parkin on 01937 842141.

Circle Dancing: organised by the Yorkshire Countrywomen’s Association, circle dancing will take place on Wednesday, November 14 in the village hall at 7.30pm. All welcome.

German for the Christmas Markets: a one off languages course will be held on Saturday, November 10 in the village hall, from 9am-1pm. This is for people who are visiting Christmas markets in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Numbers are limited to 10, but further dates and venues may be added according to demand. Live Music at the Albion: bands from throughout the country will be performing live at the Albion throughout the year, normally on a Saturday evening. Meanwhile, folk evenings take place once a month on a Wednesday. The next folk evening will take place on Wednesday, November 7. Clifford AFC: bingo is now a regular event, normally on the second Tuesday of every month, starting at 7.30pm. Entrance fee of £3 includes raffle ticket. The next bingo is in November.
