St Edward’s Roman Catholic Church: services for the coming week are as follows Saturday, October 20 6pm vigil mass, Sunday, October 2110am, Monday, October 22 to Friday, October 26 9.30am (10am on Thursday).

Clifford Methodist Church: on Sunday, October 21 there will be a service at 10.30am. There will also be an open house coffee morning in the Methodist schoolroom on Tuesday, October 23 from 10–11.30am. All welcome. St Luke’s Church: there will be a holy communion service on Sunday, October 21 at 11am.

Speed Lectures: an evening of speed lectures will be held on Saturday, October 27 at St Luke’s Church, starting at 7.30pm. Those who attend will be treated to four short, thought-provoking lectures by accomplished speakers as well as refreshments and wine. Tickets are £8, and available from the Gausdens on 01937 843575, or on the door.

Clifford Drama Group: the group’s next production is Trivial Pursuits by Frank Vickery, to be staged on October 25 to 27. The play is a comedy set at a barbecue of the local operatic society. A cast of ten players combines new and experienced actors. The box office is now open and tickets can be booked by telephoning Andrea Seed on 01937 845981. Due to popularity, early booking is advised to avoid disappointment.

Clifford Neighbourhood Plan Community Group: will be holding an open consultation day in the village hall, on Saturday, October 20 between 10am-5pm. One of the main purposes of the open day will be to present the initial findings of a household survey, and to allow residents to comment on potential development sites. The event is open to all interested parties but is particularly aimed at residents of Clifford Parish and those living on adjacent boundaries. German for the Christmas markets: a one off languages course will be held on Saturday, November 10 in the village hall, from 9am-1pm. This is for people who are visiting Christmas markets in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Numbers are limited to 10, but further dates and venues may be added according to demand. Live Music at the Albion: bands from throughout the country will be performing live at the Albion throughout the year, normally on a Saturday evening. Meanwhile, folk evenings take place once a month on a Wednesday. The next folk evening will take place on Wednesday, November 7. Clifford AFC: bingo is now a regular event, normally on the second Tuesday of every month, starting at 7.30pm. Entrance fee of £3 includes raffle ticket. The next bingo is in November.
