An interiors firm which launched in March has acquired a local business as it continues its expansion.

Retail and design company Richard Grafton Interiors, which is based in Harrogate, has bought Janet Sandles Interiors, which was established in 2000 and was based on Westmoreland Street in the town.

Owner Janet Sandles has joined Richard Grafton Interiors as an interior designer, bringing the firm’s staff numbers to eight.

She said: “I am really looking forward to working as part of an experienced team again, and introducing my clients to Richard Grafton Interiors.

“The foothold Richard has gained since launching the business earlier this year is remarkable, and I want to do my part to help this already successful business to grow.”

Janet, who holds a Bachelor of Arts in fashion and textile design, will be based at Richard Grafton Interiors’ 3,000ft sq showroom and design studios at The Ginnel in the Montpellier Quarter.

Richard said: “The acquisition of Janet’s business, and her recruitment to our team of designers further boosts our design capability, and allows us to build on the flying start we have enjoyed. Janet has a great deal of experience, having run a successful design business for the past 12 years, as well as having worked as a designer for the BBC for ten years earlier in her career. We are looking forward to welcoming her input into our design contracts as we continue to grow our client base across Yorkshire.”
